Two generations of the Ewing family owned and operated a small town Michigan bowling center, Leslie’s Bowl Inn Recreation, for over 33 years. In the off season, a bowling center lane refinishing business eventually expanded to residential floor refinishing.

In 1994, husband and wife team, Craig and Tracy Ewing, installed wood floors throughout their new home and expanded their business to installing as well as refinishing residential wood floors. Ewing’s Wood Floors was born.

In 1996, Craig and Tracy quit their full time jobs to concentrate on the flooring business and operating the bowling center, now Ewing’s Bowling Center. The flooring business continued to gain momentum, and Craig and Tracy sold the bowling center in 1999.

Ewing’s Wood Floors got most of its business through referrals, advertising in the phone book for only about 2 years. Over the years, our clientele expanded from homeowners needing refinishing or installations in existing homes to homeowners needing installations in new construction, and ultimately included builders. Ewing’s Wood Floors have been featured for several years in the Lansing Parade of Homes, and we specialize in borders, medallions and custom installations.

Ben and Paula Barbour purchased Ewing’s Wood Floors in the fall of 2007, working for several months under the expert instruction of Craig and Tracy. Now called Ewing’s Wood Floors & More, Ben and Paula’s business continues to provide Michigan homeowners with the elegance of hardwood flooring and the quality that has been synonymous with the Ewing name for decades.
